Appreciations of Ernst Theis' work on a new record and on TV

The composer's work was highlighted  on the newly produced record and on a documentary.

As part of the series “Der wilde Sound der 20er”, BR Klassik produced Hanns Eisler’s “Tempo der Zeit” and Eduard Künnecke’s “Tänzerische Suite 2 (for jazz band and symphony orchestra) in a new look on a CD. These works are essential components of the project “ Radio Music", in which Ernst Theis is significantly involved (both musically and scientifically). The CD was released on November 3rd, 2023.

The media response is very positive. Dirk Schlauß from Online Merker: „Die Interpretation dieser Suite auf der vorliegenden CD ist schlichtweg beeindruckend. Das Münchner Rundfunkorchester unter der Leitung von Ernst Theis erweist sich als hoch kompetent und verleiht dem Stück eine mitreißende Lebendigkeit.“

The work of Theis was also featured in the ARTE documentary "Wir sind auf Sendung! 100 Jahre Rundfunkorchester“, released on ORF 2. The production team used and incorporated his scientific contribution to early media music. Work in this field led to his book Musik für das Medium Radio (1923-1924)", published in 2022.
