Cristian David González Cáceres in Gallarate, Italy – Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP)
As part of the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), Cristian David González Cáceres, a student at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music in Vienna, participated in an international mobility programme in Gallarate, Italy.
The programme focused on orchestral performance. Together with students from various partner institutions, Cristian prepared Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater alongside works by Alessandro Scarlatti. The intensive rehearsals and final performances provided valuable insights into professional orchestral collaboration and contributed significantly to his artistic and personal development.
A particular highlight of the programme was studying with Professor Anca. During his individual lessons, Cristian worked on Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 5 as well as works by Johann Sebastian Bach. Her inspiring guidance provided new approaches to violin technique, tone production, musical interpretation, and effective practice methods, while also motivating him to continue exploring the works of Bach and Paganini.
Beyond the musical programme, Cristian had the opportunity to visit Teatro alla Scala in Milan and discover the cultural atmosphere of Gallarate. He especially appreciated the warm hospitality of the Conservatorio Giacomo Puccini, whose welcoming environment made the international experience even more meaningful.
Looking back, Cristian describes the Erasmus+ mobility as a highly enriching experience that strengthened his artistic development and renewed his motivation to continue growing as a musician. He highly recommends the programme to music students who wish to gain international experience while developing both artistically and personally.
