Ice Cream, Jazz and New Connections: Our Erasmus+ & Buddy Programme Evening
What better way to meet new people than over ice cream and live music? Students from JAM MUSIC LAB and the Friedrich Gulda School of Music Vienna recently came together for our Erasmus+ & Buddy Programme Evening in Vienna.
The evening began with ice cream at Zanoni before continuing with drinks and live music at Jazz Bar Frau Mayer. In this relaxed atmosphere, new and returning students had the chance to get to know one another, exchange experiences and make new connections beyond the classroom.
Students also received information about Erasmus+ study opportunities abroad and our network of international partner institutions. Many were interested in spending a semester abroad, discovering another music scene and developing both artistically and personally.
At the same time, we introduced the Buddy Programme, which connects newly arrived students with students who already know the school and life in Vienna. Several participants volunteered to become Buddies—a welcome response, as many new students are currently looking for someone to help them settle in, find their way around and feel at home.
The evening showed that international exchange does not begin only when students travel abroad. It also happens here in Vienna: through conversations, shared music and the simple act of welcoming someone new.
