Erasmus+ Experience of Shaghayegh Javidfard in New York

Shaghayegh Javidfard shares her unforgettable Erasmus+ experience in New York City, where she had the opportunity to collaborate with the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra. Thanks to Erasmus+ funding, the support of her school, the Gulda School of Music, and the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, she was able to enjoy an enriching and inspiring artistic journey.

At first, the program felt somewhat challenging as Shaghayegh needed time to work on the concert materials. However, this challenge was quickly overcome with the help of Maestro Nuzzo. Just two days after her arrival in New York, she received a cello for practicing and later for performing in the concert, which was specially provided and rented for her.

She described the rehearsals with the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra as highly focused, practical, and professional. The warm welcome from Maestro Nuzzo during the first rehearsal helped her connect with the orchestra members and build friendships. Shaghayegh highlighted that Maestro Nuzzo is not only an exceptional conductor but also a kind and inspiring person who knows how to bring out the best in the orchestra.

The day of the concert was magical and an unforgettable moment for her. The performance went exceptionally well, and she felt that the orchestra played even better than during rehearsals. The nearly full concert hall responded with joy and enthusiasm.

Beyond her musical experience, Shaghayegh explored New York’s vibrant cultural scene. She visited renowned museums such as the Metropolitan Museum, MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the Whitney Museum. A special highlight of her stay was attending a performance of The Barber of Seville at the Metropolitan Opera.

In conclusion, Shaghayegh Javidfard describes her Erasmus+ stay as one of the most exciting and valuable projects of her career so far. She expresses deep gratitude to the Erasmus+ program, her school, and the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra for making this experience possible.
