Buddy Program at Gulda School of Music: Intercultural Exchange and Erasmus+ Opportunities in Vienna
The Buddy Program at JAM MUSIC LAB and the Friedrich Gulda School of Music connects students from different countries and creates a vibrant setting for intercultural encounters. It helps international participants settle into life in Vienna and become familiar with both academic and everyday life, while experiencing Austrian culture firsthand.
Through shared activities, participants explored not only the city but also each other’s backgrounds. A tour through Vienna’s historic center and a visit to a traditional Christmas market provided ideal opportunities for conversation, new friendships, and cultural exchange.
A special focus of the program was on the institutes’ international mobility options, particularly within the Erasmus+ framework. Students received detailed information about partner institutions across Europe and beyond and learned how an Erasmus+ stay can enhance their artistic, academic, and personal development. The Buddy Program offered space to address questions about studying abroad, reduce uncertainties, and spark interest in future exchange opportunities.
At its core, the program emphasizes an international mindset: the Buddy Program serves as a place for connection, dialogue, and lived cultural diversity – in Vienna and around the world.
